Adoption Trips

We received our referral for our daughter C on the Epiphany of the Lord Jan 6th.

We will be travelling to Beijing on Mar 9 and returning with C the 23rd or 24th.

C is in the province of GuangXi to the west of the province of Canton and just east of Vietnam. She is at the SWI in BeiHai. BeiHai is a sea side city know for it's beaches. It is roughly the same latitude as Cuba.

C was found abandoned at a shopping mall in BeiHai on March the 3rd, 2005 and was taken into the SWI that day. Doctors estimated she was one day old.

She will be one year old on March 2nd.

We will travel from Beijing to NanNing the provincial capital where we will meet her. Most groups in the past have not been invited to go to the orphanage in BeiHai and since we are the first group from Children's Bridge to receive referrals from this SWI I doubt we will be invited either.

We would like to at a minimum travel from NanNing to BeiHai to see the city and her finding place.

We will then travel back to Beijing to complete the Canadian immigration paperwork. Then back home to meet our family. We won't be stopping in HongKong as that would require some immigration logistics to get her a visa to go to HK on a Chinese passport.

We are sending disposible cameras and gifts to the children and C. We hope they will take some pictures of her time in the SWI and show her the pictures of our family before we arrive. Maybe they will even give her the teddy bear Brandon is sending.

B will not travel with us. He will stay at home with Nana, Grampy and Sonia. This will be hard on all I am sure but on Mommy the most I fear.

Things are going to get busy for us soon so expect some updates when we get closer to travel date.
