Adoption Trips

It's been a while. Two certainly is more work than one and sometimes the noise level in the house rivals the jets racing past our house to Toronto (Pearson) International Airport.

C was baptised on May 14th and Nana and Grampy did come for a visit. Uncle M and Aunt B came down for the weekend and Uncle T, Aunt M and Aunt S came to witness the event.

Here she is on the morning of her baptism before we went to the church.

We passed the remainder of May settling into our new family of five life and stayed busy with Church events etc.

June came and S our live in niece left to go home to her parents. Summer and all of its heat arrived so we decided to head to NB to visit Nana and Grampy for a while. We had to take the long way through Quebec because the citizenship had not been granted and the US thinks 15 month old children might want to escape on their own and join the ranks of the illegals living there.

While we were there we visited one of our friends from the trip to GuangXi.

August passed as July had and S our niece came back in September to start school in Ste. C an hour away from home. She boards which has left us with a household of four.

September came and we had a wonderful Group 229 reunion in Kitchener at the home of one of the other families from the trip. The girls certainly have grown and they are all so cute.

Now October is gone and now we are thinking about C's 1st Christmas with us. I am so looking forward to that. Everyone is coming here for Christmas as it is her first.

We have started reading Christmas stories at bed time just getting a little head start on the season.

We will travel to Florida the 2nd week of December for a week's vacation. C has her Citizenship now (Oct 6) so the nasty border folks should leave us alone.

C and her big brother (GawGaw) have become great buddies. He loves her and she adores and tries to imitate him.


She is developing at the same rate her brother has and predictably 8 months home she has determined that this is a permanent arrangement so her good girl demeanor can be put aside. No more eating like a horse. No more doing what mommy and daddy say now I can throw a tantrum when mommy says no and I can spit food out if I don't want it. Her Brother did the same thing but we think it started 6 months after we were home for him.

V is certainly looking forward to returning to work in December after the vacation. I on the other hand am dreading it and don't know why she needs to given that I can support the family on my salary alone.

Hopefully it won't take so long before our next update.

Our original travel group (239) is about to leave for China, in fact one member is there now with group 237. This has me thinking of another trip to China. One can dream I guess.
