Adoption Trips

Again we skipped the scheduled tour today as we had done it in 2003 and decided to go shopping instead. We three awoke at about 8am and went down for breakfast.

At 10 or so we took a cab, or the cab took us (no meter running and a flat 20 yuan charge), to the Pearl Market. After spending about 15 minutes looking for children's clothes we went up to the 4th floor to buy some pearls for C. A nice little pair of pearl stud earrings for 65 yuan and a little bracelet for S and we left for the nearby toy market.

We didn't find anything that interested us at the toy market so we headed up to the pedestrian mall on WangFuJing DaJie. We had lunch at Mickey D's so that we could get a place to sit and feed C. We shopped a couple of local department stores looking for clothes and toys. Finally just before we left V ducked into a gift market and made a few deals for a fridge magnet, a wooden model of the Temple of Heaven in Beijing and 2 radio controlled flying saucers. One for B and one for J.

Tonight we go for our Peking Duck dinner and group photo before families start heading back to Canada in the early hours of tomorrow.
