Adoption Trips

We made it to Toronto on time at 2pm on Friday. Customs and Immigration went smoothly and we were out of the airport on our way home to B by 3:30. We arrived home to B, S and Nana waiting at the living room window waving to us as we parked the van.

It has taken a few days but I think we are finally over the jet lag and are only suffering from the effects of having to tend to C who is ill with a cold and kept us (V mostly) up for a good portion of Friday and Saturday night.

C has switched allegiance from Daddy to Mommy leaving Daddy to make up for two weeks with B. B is behaving very well and has shown a few minor signs of jealousy but for the most part has not made a fuss over C being on the scene. He will not let her play with his bikes and he insisted on eating rice cereal like her at dinner last night. A few times he has asked to be held by Mommy or Daddy while we were holding C and he frequently asks to see C when she is sleeping in her crib.

Today we got back to a bit of our normal routine and went to church and lunch as usual. The folks at church presented C with a big Teddy Bear to welcome her home which was much appreciated by both V and I. Their congratulations and well wishes are a wonderful way to come back to the real world here at home.

By now most of the group that traveled is home resuming their lives. Some made it home Thursday, some like us on Friday, a few yesterday and at least one today. The last family should be home sometime early this week
